ParentSquare Smart Sites is a website solution that includes web hosting, ongoing maintenance, and training. It includes a responsive design which automatically scales to fit on any device. The Mid-Hudson Regional Information Center works closely with districts to implement the ParentSquare Smart Sites. MHRIC support staff will provide ongoing phone support for district website administrator(s).
ParentSquare Smart Sites content migration includes:
- Kick-off meeting to define content migration plan and to select website template
- Configure websites
- Apply branding guidelines to district and campus websites
- Mirror legacy website, when possible (Edline, School InSites, eChalk sites cannot be mirrored)
- Perform migration of existing content for district and school websites if required
- Perform internal quality analysis of design and content migration
- Integrate site analytics for tracking
- Implement selected user integration method on all sites
- Two design revisions per site during implementation phase
Content migration does not include:
- Teacher pages (training on creating pages is available for teachers)
- Documents more than 1 year old (unless mandatory)
MHRIC ParentSquare Smart Sites support includes:
- Contract Negotiation, budget preparation and procurement
- Work with district to create an effective migration plan
- Admin training on Smart Sites software
- Coordinate with district to cutover domain to point to ParentSquare sites
- Annual user group meetings for local member districts to discuss and share their experience with the CMS
- Tracking of project status and district support requests in MHRIC Support Tracking Database
District Responsibilities:
- Identify Website Smart Sites Project primary contact
- Demonstrate commitment to the project by participating in all planning and discussion sessions related to the project
- Select template design for district website and school websites
- Work with MHRIC and ParentSquare to develop an effective content migration plan
- Complete on-line “School Information Form”
- Complete Content Migration form provided by ParentSquare
- Provide website feedback on design and content migration
- Provide necessary information to implement user integration
- Work with MHRIC and ParentSquare to review and sign-off on website design
- Attend remote software training
- Perform user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Coordinate with ParentSquare to cutover domain and point to ParentSquare sites
- Sign-off on Go-live
- Participate in support hand-off meeting with support manager and account manager
- Communicate concerns or technical issues to the MHRIC HelpDesk for resolution
